Thee only reason I am where I am today is because of my blatant honesty, be it off color or not. I could easily become another cookie cutter and probably have huge potential at that and reach the most audience, hell I can be a cooler martha stewart, but thats not where I want to be. My art and method of teaching is infused with my life, and my life is filled with ups, downs, and contradictions. People read my blog not because Im the best artist in the world, others do what I do and do it well but I would bet that none have as loyal a following. Its an attitude I am selling, promoting, advocating, above anything else. Empowerment. Its not the clean sanitized version like youll find in polished barnes and noble books but the gritty real life shit we go through. It's feminism at its highest and that is the highest service I offer women. And that takes being as true to life as I possibly can.

When I put out there the whole B movie thing I was warned not to, that it will tarnish my image and perhaps turn some people away. But in fact, it brought them closer to me. Because Im real. I admit what I do and I do not apologize for it. I am NOT a christian fundamentalist nor do I want to pretend to be. Not that there is anything wrong with that but its not my path. I want to sleep with SHANE for petes sake. and I was a stripper for 15 years. Although I am more than these things my experiences make me who I am, and the more myself I act the more I allow others to be themselves too. and this, in my opinion, is what brings everyone here.

I really mean it when I talk about revolution.

someone said once I was a "master of marketing" and I told them Ive never marketed in my fucking life. As if my lack of hair washing and making videos in my pajamas is an elaborate plan. Im just a chick on the floor of her room talking to a video camera and pretending it is her best friend. Because I want a best friend. I want authenticity. I want to tell someone my secrets FINALLY TELL MY SECRETS, and not live a bullshit life anymore. I cant breathe with secrets in my throat.

Although I want to be out there as much as I can and let this all get as big as it possibly can I dont forsee the usual way of getting there. With the internet all has changed anyway. No longer do we need editors or publishers to see good things in us, we see them in ourselves and put our art there anyway. I dont know about you but Id LOVE to read a craft book in which they said PUT THIS FUCKING THING OVER HERE THEN ADD THE OTHER FUCKING THING TO IT and stopped the sterilized boring CRAP I see everywhere.

Why does Rachel Rae look like an airbrushed waif on magazine covers but ooh 20 lbs heavier on her TV show?

Although I invite other markets to love me I will not court them in any special way. Im not going to dumb down my message or make it easier to swallow for the quilting ladies. If they are hungry for new ideas in fabric art, for something fresh, they will listen. If not then there are countless cardboard lifeless 'crafters' out there for them to follow.

I want a new breed of art chicas. I want lesbian orgies of wild abandon ART LOVE. I want goddesses coast to coast painting in tee shirts with out a bra and if all the retreat circuits out there dont want me and my ladies SO BE IT. We will start our own little revolution out here in the corner.

Learning how to make dingy digital backgrounds

Just this morning I said today i will DETOX no sugar and definitely no sausage and peppers that my dad would be making tonight and then by 5:30 it started with a low sugar hard candy and quickly lead to stuffing a chocolate cupcake into my mouth and washing it down with an A&W Root beer, followed by Dads lovely greazy sausage and peppers.

The baby snores. she snores so loud. she had diarrhea today a bit cause they all feed her bad people food at the table, that stops. now she is on chop meat and rice to bind her. the snoring is so cute tho. I must tape it. I need to make a cd of her fav songs too.

So after the class is finished I am going to ENTER THE WORLD damn it. ha. get me a life outside of these walls. I found a local yoga place. that is first. and there is also a meet up place that does life drawing once a week I could do that, and Ive also written to them and asked if I can start up an art journal group. I think that would be an excellent idea and would fuel the you tube thing because Id have 3 dimensional people to play with YAY.

So here is to getting out of the house!

"I had so much fun working on this kit. i tend to get caught up in gathering supplies and over thinking projects, sometimes to the point of not getting anything done. with the party girl a lot of the thinking was done for me and i could just let go and play. that is exactly how I looked at it too~ play. I wanted to use some of the supplies i have horded and held on to for who know how long and use them in this piece which I did. I'm naturally a kind of serious person and I find various art forms a nice release if I try not to think too hard. before the kit arrived I promised myself that i wouldn't think so much and just do, to relax and trust the process. the directions were awesome with just enough direction to make it work but not too much to make it seem too hard. in fact I had a hard time waiting for the paint to dry since I didn't want to stop and got up a few in the the middle of the night to either play some more or just look at and get inspired on what I would add next. once I was finished I was so pleased and couldn't believe that i finished it without going into over thinking overload and that I had anything to do with how it turned out. I keep looking at it and am amazed that I actually had any part to play in how it turned out. I had so much fun and I want more kits and i cant wait for the online class! thank you suzi if you lived by me I'd give you a big hug! you are my muse (well you and my cat, belle:) >^..^< katy"

See the bed in the back? Thats the baby's new bed. pooh sleeps in it too. I can fit my ass in it as well its so damn big. fkg A I have cramps. 3 advil and 2 hours later and its better thank goodness for drugs. Better living thru chemicals I always say. BTW Hollys new name is GIGI.
When she came to the rescue she had the name Prissy - which she didnt respond to. (can you imagine being 7 and not having a name?) so they called her Holly, which is sort of responds to. I think if we change it to gigi right now shell get it fast. and its so much CUTER and easy to sing. and she likes it. she told me.

Non stop thunderstorms and the baby wont sleep so I havent had much either. Even Teddy here could use a few more hours cause the baby shakes and paces and likes thunder NOT SO MUCH and at this point neither do I. I have to wait until tomorrow and some sunlight anyway to take photos of the finished Lantern which came out pretty cool. I like paper things. Paper ships paper dolls a paper ocean. because of Holly's heart murmur (never told to me but written on the rescue vets papers) and gingivitis, my vet believes she is more like 7 or 8.
which doesn't matter in the least i still would have gotten her. he gave me medicine for her ears, he said her breed is highly allergic.
she also apparently had an abscess at one time on her left eye because it looks a little damaged, he said this costs her no pain now (but did very much when she had it). now its just a scar.

sometimes when we feel alone we just need to reach out to people and for me it works the best with other women. I LOVE my goddesses. they feed me when Im hungry and hold my head gently when Im tired.

ok. online classes are on and i will stick to it. Registration begins August 1st (my birthday is the 8th must think of something fab for that) and classes will begin the 17th or 18th, whichever is a monday. I have moments of doubt but you know, I just need to focus. I wont make as much art to sell for a few weeks which is scary but its ok. The class is important and will pay for the time Im taking away from making a weekly living now.

its all fear isnt it? what would we do if we knew in our guts that there was nothing to be afraid of?

my head is a mess from the time i wake up until the time i go to sleep
and its not a terrible mess but its not a good mess either. my throat is drippy.
I need sunshine and quiet but there is not time for that when you tell yourself
you need to do big things and do them quickly. I long for vasts of time with no
responsibilities and whats funny is I create my life exactly how it is. I add my own
stress. It is no ones fault but mine. because there is so much I want to do. so very
much. you know? that I could do.

The online class thing is hard and giving me a headache.
so Im going to make the videos into dvds to sell instead.
easy easy something i already know how to do. I have them
outlined and ready to go. exactly how to teach you to make
a mixed media pretty girl on wood painting. yes. you order
the dvd then i send it to your house. what could be easier than
that. then, end of august, i begin working on my book for lulu.com.
Because its what I want a visual orgy of suzi book love.

but right now i have a sore throat again and I feel like I wont be able to finish anything.

ill admit...i havent read since last week. ive come to the conclusion that i MUST get audio books, there is just no time to read. oh what a boring girl ive become.

Doesn't seem like much but we had to put the entire thing together which consists of 4 pieces. most of my stuff fits in there and I have it all ALL in bins or shoe boxes. I cannot put art supplies right on shelves because i can never see whats in the back. so bins work. Im going to glue pretty papers to the front of the shoe boxes and label the outside so I know whats inside. not rocket science, I know, but sometimes simple is not obvious. This sketch below is for this weeks commission. A mama and her daughter and brown tabby cat.

Daddy Blu going to put together my organizer wall unit thingy today, as you can see I need it. Ive had the art supplies in the cellar and i bring them up when I need them but we know that doesnt work. I need them here within reach.

I think I will scrapbook outside today there's not much humidity. Take the pets and sit on the grass. I need to go to kinkos first and photo copy images to play with. Ill take still photos and show a hint of what I did tonight.

Home visit went very well. Someone from the rescue was sent over and I think she liked us. Holly is in another state so she did not bring her. Now it is up to the foster mom to decide which family is best for the pup, so we sit and wait. I will tell you as soon as I know something.

Today is the home visit YAY! So this is the last stop in the rescue process and will determine whether they think Holly is right for our home or not MY gosh my heart! I know I said there would be a painting chat today but Im too fidgety to paint. and chat. I cant sit still. Im writing and journaling and working on my book (oh no did i say that out loud?) and also...working on an online class that will begin August 1st! Yes yes, Im committing to it. Im filming it next week. It will be a glorious glorious and Im excited. It is an 8 week class on how to make pretty mixed media girls.

Finally talked to the foster mom after my vet reference checked out. OH I LOVE THIS PUP!
Poor thing! She is 3 years old and was neglected. they had to remove 6 teeth. they just spayed her and fixed a hernia she had as well, so shes been thru hell. She is loving and wants to snuggle with you all day long. She is fine with other dogs and cats around and doesnt pay much attention to them. She is afraid of things like swiffers when they fall POOR BABY! She needs love even more than I imagined. Because of her teeth she has a half smile. She eats wet food and dry food now and i cant wait to give her yummy boiled chicken.

This is it, I mean, this is the best part of life. To show a being who has been treated so poorly and to treat them like they are a God. I still have to go through a home visit to make sure I am who I say I am and that the environment is safe but then I can go get her. I have to drive into another state for her but I picked up a cheap GPS on eBay. This little baby just wants to lay about with her owner all day and that is what I plan to give her. I want to give her everything. Everything everything everything. If I get her she will be my little shining STAR!

Tonight I roamed the streets of my town, with a high school partner in crime. Driving aimlessly for hours just like that night when we were 15 and kissed although tonight, no kissing but, memories. lots of memories. Of Big Black Cadillacs and parties and beer. He looks different I look different but his eyes are the same. Same eyes. Same smile. Same person in there, my only link to my past. our past.
Our past. Thats the part Ive missed from my life. I've moved eh 36 times? Im guessing. I stopped counting at 31 and that was several moves ago. I leave a little more behind each time I go so I have nothing even from 2 years ago with me let alone anything from so long ago. no people. Ive even forgotten names. Names he brought up and houses we drove past HOLY SHIT STUEY. i totally made out with stuey. and his crazy hair. I didnt even like him i think, i know, like that really. I just wanted love. thought he was funny. I guess. I dont remember.
I feel weird and fucked up like I belong here but dont? Even this house. They are swell but already I am no longer novel. Interest is wanning and I feel invisible. Im sure, that leads me to making videos in the first place. Being there for people like me, alone in their rooms, quietly creating. Awkward with boys. there was a boy the other day, in a store. I practically ran away I was so nervous. Which is funny because get me in a strip bar and I am in control. I hold my head high while wear nothing. I own every man in that room (did, past tense, as you know). But get me in the sunlight and look at me and ask me things and I cannot stop blushing.

He told me tonight I have to stop hiding. That I need to buy girly things and go somewhere where boys are. But I know I will only be sad when I get there. It seems so many things are confronting me in the last 2 weeks, leaving me all alone with myself and my emptiness. I am pms for sure, so that is probably it but still. I dont want to go to a bar alone and look for someone interesting to talk to, that will never happen. The wrong sorts go to bars anyway and you know my track record with first impressions. I fall in love at first site. Kiss now and find out youre a shithead later.

But Ive been running for so very long, dear chickies, that I am so far from everywhere Ive ever been. I cant feel anything, tangible. I hold onto pooh. pooh is real. pooh is what I have. brushes are real. and paints. How can one be terribly sad and terribly happy all at the same time?

I dont know if I will get this little dog. I have to ask questions about temperament and why they say she is 'shy'. Does that mean she is not good around other dogs? I want her and penny to get along, and what about cats? Oh i fall in love too quickly. I do.

Sorry, Suzi, but I threw out the packaging before I got this email asking for the date. I don't know what the problem was, but I was surprised it took a whole week to get to Ohio. Why not? For once entertain the possibility that you can live your life the way you want. It is possible to spend entire days in the forest drinking tea with your cat. It is possible to make your own clothes out of vintage patterns from the 1940's you find on ebay - or to wear bunny slippers to buy groceries. Everything is possible if you open your mind and heart to it. Say yes to what yo want and BLEH to any and all negativity - even if its really neat and dressed up as reality. pay special attention to that.

Easy, yes, from a chica who lives safely at her parents. But whatever your safe haven is - GET THERE NOW. Dont spend one more hour doing things you don't love.

You rent your socks, remember that. You own nothing. The details of your life mean nothing when your dead so never feel bad if you arent materially successful. Dream anyway.

Just for today I will allow myself the luxury of believing that my dreams are possible.

Power had been out here since 3 PM yesterday and stayed out until i went to bed at midnight. made a journal entry by candle light. had the door open and a puppy gate in front of it (most of the windows in this house and painted shut). I ate 4 ice cream sandwiches (had to the fridge was getting warm) and 6 mint milanos. I watched a june bug struggle to fly. I read the newspaper that I bought for LuLu to pee on. Found out Obama won. Went to bed.

They are like little paper doll house things, thats how I'd describe them. Some of them are very intricate and for 3.00 worth the price, like this horsey which seems hard to do yourself. Other things though you could totally do. Like this:

They sell small paper punches that make the flower shape. then you put a dot or a sequin in the middle. Much cheaper to make yourself. Or you could draw your own flower shapes and cut them out. Add little stems. viola.

Painting for the kit is finished! I took close up photos of the process, step by step as I used each new medium to create a new layer. Im writing out the instructions now - going through my notes off the top of my head I dont even know how many layers there are there are so many. I dig it. It came out pretty. Im going to have prints available for sale as well of it, and of the others I create. Get your juices wanting to make layers with me. And this kit is totally doable. Everything is shown in a straightforward simple manner. Just stick with it take your time and you can have an elegantly shaded face and a build up of layers you are happy with.

Its a bit orange because this is what I get when I take a photo indoors at night. Its really pink. Ill take a better photo today out in the sunlight. Id like to make prints from this but it might be too big. I LOVE PAINTING BIGGER its just easier. You can add more detail and you have room, you know? this is 18 X 24 which is the perffect size.

It hurts. it does. I'm incapacitated. Nothing I can do today but lie here and make notes for the dvd. Sorry If I freaked you out last night. I do have a penchant for anything that makes me feel like Im sliding into warm milk but I don't do scary drugs so no worries! ha. Just a sleeping pill once in awhile and just one. I am in the process of getting health insurance so I am on top of this period pain nightmare. Test show the cyst is not a dangerous one and I need to only lower my estrogen. Birth control pills are one way but I'd like to go the holistic route so I need to do research. There are other ways to lower estrogen with diet and exercise, herbs perhaps. Taking birth control over 40 I dont think is a good thing.

so KITTENS! Guess what. Oh my its so clear. Well so, I have, er, 3? 4? more commissions to do and then I am free to make my how to DVD. With some pondering this morning I have decided also to create art meditations. Gentle guided visualizations to help ease you into the creative process. The bigger picture too will have me leading art meditation sessions - one on one and in groups. Which has me looking up right now how to make lavender eye pillows (so great to warm and put on your eyes before you lay down. you should never lie down without one). What Im planning on doing is take art therapy exercises and tweak them to make them more spiritual (i.e. connecting with our higher selves and turning art making into a sacred act) and more mixed media (not just crayon drawings in your journal which is what most art therapy is).

I just had an idea for an exercise too that I like. Something with matisse colored paper cut outs.

The thing about drugs is how normal I feel when I first take them which shows just how uptight and stressy Ive been. My breathing is slow...all day long I hold it so tight, god it feels good there has to be some kind of major change where I can spend time adequate time for deep relaxation.

Pictures come out much better for me with the digital camera, the scanner looks blurry? Perhaps because the wood is too big to fit inside so the top is open some. so here is a brighter pics of the mermaid. I will put her up for auction tonight.

Honestly I dont hold any resentment today. Its just non important. There's so much real love to be had in the world that some dude making goo goo eyes at me is laughable. Like who cares? who the hell are you? Id much rather a person look at me with love because with my encouragement they've finally finally painted something and are not judging themselves. Thats a good feeling. Or giving a mentally challenged person the confidence to express themselves and feel dignified in doing so.My god that is more important. sex and wine and poems and oh I love you so much it hurts ..... my its boring. I might be a slutty gal cause Ive had it since I was in 5th grade. Its not real! We are biologically driven to become enamored by someone for as much time as it takes to procreate, then the crazy romantic lust fades. Its a trick by our genes! If the two of you are friends than real love can endure but REAL LOVE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ROMANTIC LOVE. and so therefore it is fake. which is why the dali lama has never had sex and I get it now. I do. sex is not bad but beautiful, of course, but its not necessary and even hinders loving someone for real. with romantic love you are seeing that person as an object. a way to fulfill your desire. If you are not thinking of fkg them then you can see them only with light. Not here for yOu.
